Rediscover Nassau County Museum of Art in Roslyn, NY
Looking for something to do outside today? Check out the Nassau County Museum of Art in Roslyn, NY for a scenic and playful space to wander, picnic, or take pictures. And you don't even have to go inside! (Though I do suggest you make your way into the collections eventually) I recently visited NCMA for the Halston Style exhibit, which was amazing, and as I was strolling from the parking lot to the front door, I remembered why I love to visit. There are pathways, statues, gardens, fountains and more sprawled across 145 acres. Tucked away right off Northern Blvd, this hidden local gem offers plenty of opportunity to stretch out and enjoy the sunshine.
Can I bring the kids?
Of course! And I strongly suggest it! Bring lunch and a ball or some bubbles, find a shady spot, and have a picnic. Or play a thrilling game of I Spy with the sizable statues and art scattered across the grounds.
The NCMA is open Tuesday through Sun, 11am - 4:45pm, and the best part is, parking is free! So unless you plan to go inside the museum it's totally free. I do suggest you peek at their current exhibit Glamour Icons: Marc Rosen. But you can fill a day with their beautiful gardens alone.
So what are you waiting for? Take advantage of the warm weather and sunshine, and get outside and explore! Long Island, NY has so many great activities for kids, so add this to the list and next time you're feeling cooped up, take a trip to one of the best locations to run and play. What are some of your favorite picnic spots on Long Island?
